From where did the Universe Come from ?
Where did the Universe come from? Part 1: Einstein's Big BlunderAbdallah, 100 years ago, Albert Einstein publishedthree papers that rocked the world. These papersproved the existence of the atom, introduced thetheory of relativity, and described quantummechanics. Pretty good debut for a 26 year old scientist, huh? His equations for relativity indicated that the universewas expanding. This bothered him, because if it wasexpanding, it must have had a beginning and a beginner.Since neither of these appealed to him, Einstein introduceda 'fudge factor' that ensured a 'steady state' universe,one that had no beginning or end. But in 1929, Edwin Hubble showed that the furthestgalaxies were fleeing away from each other, just as theBig Bang model predicted. So in 1931, Einstein embracedwhat would later be known as the Big Bang theory, saying,"This is the most beautiful and satisfactory explanationof creation to which I have ever listened." He referredto the 'fudge factor' to achieve a steady-state universeas the biggest blunder of his career. As I'll explain during the next couple of days,Einstein's theories have been thoroughly proved andverified by experiments and measurements. But there'san even more important implication of Einstein's discovery.Not only does the universe have a beginning, but timeitself, our own dimension of cause and effect, beganwith the Big Bang. That's right -- time itself does not exist beforethen. The very line of time begins with that creationevent. Matter, energy, time and space were createdin an instant by an intelligence outside of spaceand time. About this intelligence, Albert Einstein wrotein his book "The World As I See It" that the harmonyof natural law "Reveals an intelligence of suchsuperiority that, compared with it, all thesystematic thinking and acting of human beings isan utterly insignificant reflection." He went on to write, "Everyone who is seriouslyinvolved in the pursuit of science becomes convincedthat a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe--a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one inthe face of which we with our modest powers must feelhumble." The Most Important Question In The Whole Universe
The Most Important QuestionInThe Whole UniverseByDr. Abdallah M. AlbeltagyI do not seek any worldly reward or personal gain, besides the pleasure of God and the love of my fellow human beings, in this effort requesting your attention to an essential question about our existence. There should be no conflict between true believers of any religion, but rather cooperation in the quest for the eternal truth and the best way to conduct our lives . In this spirit, I invite you to read and think about the following ideas.So often we take for granted the many aspects of our daily activities such as eating, drinking, and sleeping. We do not think about what made all of that possible? Who sustains this complex, yet fragile, life system within and around us? During our lifetime, we acquire a significant amount of knowledge about the material world around us, and engage our rational faculties in intellectual activities ranging from simple arithmetic to complex theories of quantum physics and relativity. Yet, We are not thinking about the underlying ( philosophical ) reasons behind these ideas and objects. What is there raison d'etre?The very logical processes we use to explore the physical world should prompt us to wonder about the cause of the universe itself! We seek to understand and identify the creator of a simple object, like the piece of paper you are holding right now, but we fall short of asking the same question when it comes to our existence or that of the material world around us !. The most important question in the whole universe, the one we really should be asking, is: Is there a Creator of the huge universe we are part off?All religions agree that there is one, usually referred to as God. But, sometimes, there is disagreement about the dominion of this creator and whether there is a single or a multitude of creators. I propose to you that that there is a single creator for everything that existed, exists, or will ever exist. That is my concept of God. It is absurd to think that there is a God for the Jews, another for Buddhists, another one for Christians, and yet another for the Muslims and so forth. From a logical perspective, all scientific evidence point to the unity of creation, share the same basic building blocks ( i.e. molecules and atoms ) with the rest of the universe, but all of the things in the universe abide by the same set ( natural ) laws and principles.Once the acceptance of the unique and single God is achieved, recognition of this God and gratitude is due. Not only did God create us, but he sustains our very existence moment by moment. If somebody did you a favor, let us say he helped you recover from a horrible disease, you would be grateful to him and would feel so indebted to him that you would be willing to do anything to pay him back, or at least please him. What about the one we all owe our very existence to? What about God?If we agree that God is deserving of much gratitude and recognition for all that is due to Him, then in what form should we show our gratitude. Logic dictates that if such a masterful creator exists, He should be showing us the way He wants to be thanked. This way is what we came to know as religion in the general sense. The next question is which of these ways is the true religion of God? I submit to you that Islam ( i.e. true submission to the will of God ) is the truest form of the way God, the creator of all things, wants us to worship Him. The Holy Quran, the last revelation of God to humanity, is the embodiment of the way God wants us to lead our earthly lives. I urge you to read the Holy Quran before you take me on my proposition. After all it was meant for all of humanity and just a certain race or age. If you are interested in the authenticity of the Holy Quran, and that of previous scriptures, I recommend that you read Dr. Maurice Bucaille's book " The Bible, The Quran and Science : The Holy Scriptures Examined In The Light Of Modern Knowledge " published by Seghers.I hope that you will take this message seriously and head it, for I am only acting out of my love to my fellow human beings.
